About Agency & Entities and Our Editorial Standards
Agency & Entities is an educational library published by AE Tax Advisors. Its purpose is simple: give small business owners clear, careful explanations of the structural and tax decisions they face, so they can walk into a conversation with a professional already understanding the vocabulary and the trade-offs.
What you will find here
The library is organized into ten topic hubs covering entity choice, S-corporations, multi-entity structures, formation and governance, bookkeeping and payroll, deductions, retirement plans, tax basics, transactions and cleanups, and agency and consulting businesses. Each hub links to long-form guides, and the site also includes a FAQ and a glossary. You can browse everything from the topic hubs or the full article list.
Editorial standards
We hold the content to a few rules.
- Educational, not advice. Articles explain how rules generally work. They do not account for your facts, and they are not tax, legal, or accounting advice.
- Hedged statements of law. Tax and entity rules change, and many depend on the state. We say "generally" where that is accurate and avoid absolutes.
- Figures labeled by year. When we mention a dollar limit or rate, we say which year it applies to, and only when we are confident of it. Otherwise we describe the concept and tell you to confirm the current number.
- No invented evidence. We do not publish made-up statistics, client stories, testimonials, or savings figures. Examples that use numbers are labeled as illustrations with invented values.
- State facts only when confident. State-specific notes are general orientation. We tell you to verify fees, dates, and thresholds with the state agency.
- Unique substance. Each guide is written to stand on its own, with its own structure and examples, rather than reusing boilerplate.
- Corrections welcome. Because rules change, some content will become outdated. Each page shows when it was last updated.
How the guides connect
Every article links to its topic hub, to related guides, and to relevant services from AE Tax Advisors where a professional conversation would help. Those references are meant to be useful, and you should feel free to use the guides on their own.
